Overview of the Position
The purpose of the Designer position is to draw & manage project shop drawings from the beginning till Issued for Construction shop drawings to deliver the joinery with correct contract design intent, defect-free and on time to the highest standard.
The Designer is responsible for supporting the project team in establishing and maintaining a safe, effective, and productive production process. The Designer also has the responsibility to work with our subcontractor to deliver the best outcome the first time.
Key Responsibilities
The Designer has the following key responsibilities:
- Project Management
- Setting up finishes Schedule
- Approve finishes Schedule
- Collate all project documents
- Shop drawing process:
- Subcontractor
- Submit SD (shop drawing) request to our subcontractor
- Review SD design
- Submit SD to the builder with the program
- Make any changes to the SD
- Submit IFC & approve for production
- Internally
- Draw full project shop drawings
- Submit SD to the builder with the program
- Make any changes to the SD
- Submit IFC & approve for production
- Subcontractor
- Reporting
- Attend weekly meetings
- Provide weekly updates on
- Job-status of work in progress
- Issues with a shop drawing
Core Competencies
- Has a comprehensive understanding of the joinery industry
- Experience in interior design, understanding interior intents
- Ability to read construction plans & shop drawing
- Understand the Architectural plan & design intent
- Knowledge of using AutoCAD software
